FIRST OUT OF THE GATE!

Nice entry, especially the use of music! I particularly liked the cue right at the end.

A little more activity would have boosted my interest level, but then I'm guilty of having a short attention span. Good move, flashing back to the incident! I think the last chapter was challenging to follow, but you guys did a nice job of continuing on. Best of luck!

Thanks for the comments guys. We thought the flashbacks will allow for more possibilities in the future and still stay firmly grounded to the root of First Encounter without straying too far into bizarre land lol

I'm itching to see the other submission, are you 2 submitting for this chapter or waiting for chapter 6?

I like this one! The flashback really opens up some possibilities to move beyond the bus stop. I'd really like to see some of the videos moving away from the bus stop finally and advancing the story a bit more.

I haven't decided whether to contribute this round or not yet. I have a script, but shooting it could be murder, especially with such little time. And Chapter 6 is off-limits to anyone who hasn't won chapters 2-5 (which includes me).

Right now, you've got yourself smooth-sailing! But probably there's several other challengers who are still out finishing their entries... For now, you have my vote. ;)

Guys, I have some bad news about Rockstar. He will no longer be entertaining us on these boards. Apparently his parents found out and banned him, or so I've heard. Personally, I will miss his taunts and jeers, childish as they may have been. A moment of silence for our fallen comrade...

Darn it! Another E! True Hollywood Story in the making ... Alas, he will be missed.

So, did Powerchord's parents ironically ground him too?

I heard that Rockstar/Powerchord productions went over the initial $1 million production budget funded by the initial investors. Further complications arose when Rosario Dawson backed out of the role of April O'Neil at the very last moment due to scheduling conflicts. Rumor has it that Rupert Murdoch is going to step in and option to fund the rest of the picture on Fox Searchlight, but can they do it in time to meet the deadline? Only time will tell.

Either that or his mom took his computer away.

Who wants to step up and do a E! True Hollywood Story of the rise and fall of Rockstar Productions? I'll publish it on Rootclip, I promise.

I really liked the use of sound in this clip. The piano behind the dramatic retelling parody part was really nice and kind of hooked me right off. Especially after the voices in the head snapping out of a dream thing. You guys kept it kind of dark and made it a little more moody. I think this is a really good way to advance the story. You also add a new creative plot twist with the aftershock, while leaving it very open as to where to go from there.

Also the first thing I thought of btw, when April got hit by the car. I pictured the car pulling around and who's driving? None other than Doc Brown in the delorian.....<'a 'la back 2 the future> "Marty we've got to get out of here!!!!!!!!!" .......... "Who's Marty?" LOL. ( it would definately advance the story by adding time travel as an inciting incident!) If anyone has a white whig and possibly a delorian and is up to the challenge you will definately get my vote. I mean rootclip already ripped off tmnt. Let's see a good hollywood movie spoof already!!!

Dang, that will be pretty funny If we put a BacktoTheFuture twist on it!! White wig not much of a problem, Delorians are hard to come by these days though lol But it's okay, as long as someone can make some lightning effects on after affects and make a poor man version of the flux capacitor...then it's all good :)

Then again we could go all LOST like with this, asper KillerobotNinja said it does share the same feel. Either way, it's open to plenty possibilities. We'll just wait and see how the votes turn out!

Good luck to this clip. I think we have two totally opposite directions this round, but both were equally well done.

Wow. As funny as I thought reintroducing Jim was for ours, that Doc Brown idea is incredible! XD If this short wins, I may have to make including Doc Brown driving a personal mission for this Rootclip. But I'd also feel sort of terrible mooching ideas straight out of other users... ;_;

Plus, I really feel like nobody but KRN will truly do that concept justice. :< Come out of Rootclip retirement for one chapter, KRN? Should we start a petition?

I'm gettin too old for this . haha, no I'm rather enjoying the spectator role, for now. I do, every once in a while, long for the sting of a cutting comment from manbearpig though.

AFTERSHOCK is my favorite this round, and the musical is a close number 2. I hit you both with a thumbs up.
